What is the Mock Up technique?
At Oral Studio, our Mock Up technique allows us to show the patient in their own mouth what the final result of their design will be before performing any procedure on their teeth.
The Mock up is a prototype of smile design which is intended to capture the final result in the patient's own mouth.
It is achieved through an initial impression of the patient, with this 3D information, the virtual mock-up is made by reproducing this information physically in the laboratory, in plaster material, thus obtaining a duplicate model of the patient's teeth, on which the diagnostic wax-up will be made.
Once the diagnostic wax-up has been completed, a wax-up key is made using silicone. These silicone keys for dental prostheses will be the guide for creating the final piece in the dental laboratory, which will be made using a specific provisional material for the mock-up.
At the second appointment we adapt the physical mock-up to the patient's mouth, which allows us to clinically demonstrate the designed aesthetic project. In this way we can confirm with the patient their expectations and make the necessary adjustments to the size, shape, position and color of their teeth.
