The main causes include: poor dental hygiene, consumption of foods and drinks with intense colours, whose pigments tend to adhere to the teeth.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Likewise, dental trauma, tobacco use and various medical treatments gradually stain them, changing their color.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Causes of Dental Stains<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>dental stains<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They can be caused by different reasons, which <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">may or may not mean a health problem<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Depending on the cause, we can mention two types:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>\u2022 Extrinsic Dental Stains<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are caused by the darkening of the outer surface of the tooth. It is related to excessive consumption of various highly pigmented drinks or foods, as well as bad habits such as smoking. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>\u2022 Intrinsic Dental Stains<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intrinsic dental stains occur in the internal structure of the tooth, where the pigmenting substance penetrates the tooth or becomes part of its structure, caused by certain medications or severe trauma.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Types of <\/b><b>Dental Stains<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, three types of dental stains have been identified. Determining the type of stain will allow for a more accurate diagnosis and, in this way, the appropriate procedure to be proposed to eliminate them and prevent them from reappearing.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>\u2022 Browns<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brown stains on teeth are caused by excessive consumption of tobacco, wine and coffee, affecting the entire surface of the tooth, creating stains that are difficult to remove with regular dental hygiene.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>\u2022 Grays<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The drug most associated with this type of stain is tetracycline, which is a type of stain found inside the tooth. Tetracycline is a type of antibiotic used primarily for respiratory and ear, nose and throat infections, and when taken during development, causes dark spots.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other causes of this staining are due to endodontics or when a tooth suffers pulp necrosis that causes the nerve to die. As the tooth loses vitality, its color and staining will change.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>\u2022 Yellow<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yellow stains on teeth occur due to enamel deterioration or dental plaque buildup. Poor and inadequate tooth brushing practice allows <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the pigments in many foods that contain dyes adhere in some way to the tooth.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is advisable to brush your teeth after eating acidic and highly coloured foods.
